Lark Hotels is looking for full and part time guest service concierge crew members for the upcoming season at The Attwater a boutique hotel located in Newport, RI.

Responsibilities of the position include guest reservations (phone and online), hospitality and concierge service, some baking and prep of baked goods and breakfast items for the following morning, light cleaning, and other tasks related to the operation of the property. We will provide training.

The right candidates will be friendly, attentive, hard­working, forward­thinking, detail oriented and trustworthy, be able to receive feedback and able to work as part of a team. Familiarity of Newport is a plus.

Hours will fall between 5:00pm and 10:00pm 4 nights a week including at least one weekend evening; and/or 10:00am to 5:00pm 3 days a week and we are looking for someone who has a flexible schedule during their work week or a combination of all.

Guest Services Associate - Whitehall, Camden, ME

Lark Hotels seeks a guest services associate for Whitehall, a 36 room boutique hotel located in Camden, ME. We are seeking a guest services crew member to join our team on a part time seasonal basis.
Responsibilities: When you are at the Hotel, you will be a representative of our boutique brand. Shift tasks will include guest reservations (phone and online), checking guests in/out, hospitality and concierge service, some set up and breakdown of breakfast, light cleaning, some administrative tasks, and other tasks related to the daily operation of the property. We will of course provide training.
Qualifications: Reliability is a must. The right candidate will be friendly, attentive, hard-working, forward-thinking, detail-oriented and trustworthy, able to receive feedback and able to work as part of a team. Familiarity with Camden, its culture, events and geography is a plus. Hours will be approximately 30 hours a week and weekend hours will be necessary.

Assistant Manager Field Guide and Picnic Social

Lark Hotels is seeking an assistant manager to work at both the hotel, Field Guide, but also have duties at Picnic Social, the restaurant in the hotel.  This is a high energy, detailed year round position.  If this sounds interesting please read on!

The responsibilities of this Assistant Manager of Field Guide  include the following but are not limited to the following:

  • guest reservations via telephone and online
  • hospitality and concierge duties include recommending dining venues, making reservations, suggesting day trips and cultural attractions, and maintaining a professional demeanor when interacting with hotel guests and assisting with their varied requests, ensuring quality guest experiences
  • coordinating and working with the housekeeping staff
  • spot checking rooms after housekeeping is done
  • some housekeeping and laundry
  • Prep for breakfast, delivery of breakfast baskets, etc.
  • handling minor maintenance issues
  • office work related to the guest reservation system and organization of reservation paperwork
  • input on packages and special offers, posts to our blog and social media sites, and any other initiatives that help us meet our goals
  • open communication with the General Manager
  • acting as an onsite representative of Lark Hotels

 

The responsibilities of the Assistant Manager of Picnic Social as directed by the General Managers include the following but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, courteous and exceptional service.
  • Be a role model, facilitator, trainer and able employee in all restaurant hourly positions.
  • At times conduct pre-meal meetings with the service staff on a daily basis.
  • Assume responsibility for quality of products served and service given to guests while also achieving our objectives for sales and growth.
  • Work with the Executive Chef to continuously check food quality and presentation coming from the kitchen.
  • Assist in the development, planning and carrying out restaurant local marketing, advertising and promotional activities as needed via social media while communicating all promotions to team members including but not limited to wine dinners, in house entertainment and other special events.
  • Have a complete understanding of all restaurant policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and expectations.
  • Meet restaurant employment standards, including interviewing, hiring, training, reviewing, evaluating, and terminating crew members based on the restaurant’s best practices. Be knowledgeable of all restaurant policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of those best practices as guided by the General Managers
  • Schedule labor through anticipation of business levels and activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed and labor cost objectives are met.
  • Identifying operational opportunities to build sales and control costs
  • Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures
  • Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an accurate, organized and timely manner.
  • Maintain the physical atmosphere and cleanliness of the restaurant
  • You will be expected to pick up and deliver liquor from the state agency as needed by Picnic Social
    • A valid driver's license and proof of insurance on you car are required.
  • Conduct accurate and timely inventory of all liquor, wine & beer

Lark Hotels is seeking a guest service associate for our boutique hotel, The Hotel Portsmouth, in Portsmouth, NH.

We are seeking a high-energy, hard-working, forward-thinking and trustworthy person who can learn quickly, relate to guests with presence and poise, carry out tasks efficiently and accurately, and communicate effectively with us. We will of course provide training.

The responsibilities included in this position are varied: responding to inquiries and taking guest reservations via phone, online, and through third-party sites, guest check in and check out, providing hospitality and concierge service, attending to breakfast by replenishing items, bussing tables, and cleaning up at the end of service, some cleaning, some laundry tasks, and assisting in keeping the property neat and orderly, office work related to the guest reservation system and organization of reservation paperwork, some social media, and other tasks related to the daily operation of the property, though they may not be named here.

Guest Services crew members are cross-trained for the housekeeping position so that they can fill in when needed. In addition, we would welcome input on packages and special offers, posts to our blog and social media sites, and any other initiatives that help us meet our goals.

Days/Hours: Shifts will vary but will be between 7:00am and 10:00pm.

This is a full time position.
