About The Drew Hotel

Featuring expertly designed rooms by award-winning design firm Elder & Ash, each space at The Drew evokes a modern sensibility and a deep attention to comfort. Materials are tactile, lighting is warm, and every space is designed to feel calm rather than performative.  Modern amenities are integrated with care, allowing rooms to feel inviting and lived in. Nothing here is excessive, and nothing is accidental. Your stay feels natural, intuitive, and genuinely welcoming.

The Drew reflects Plymouth through texture, tone, and intention. Design elements draw from place without imitation, allowing the past to inform the present in subtle ways. This is a hotel that rewards guests who take their time and notice the details. Hospitality here is rooted in presence. Thoughtful gestures, intuitive service, and a sense of ease shape the experience. The goal is not to impress, but to make guests feel understood and at home.

What's in a Name

History

The Drew is rooted in where we are and where we’re going next. Plymouth’s history is not archived here, it’s alive all around you — in the harbor breeze, the quiet corners of town, and the evolving story of a place that keeps inviting people to show up, stay a while, and leave a little changed for it.

The name Drew is deeply rooted in the early history of Plymouth, dating back to John Drew Sr., an English settler who arrived around 1660. His descendants became shipwrights, sailmakers, and tradespeople during Plymouth’s maritime rise, and throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, members of the Drew family were active in local business and civic life.

Streets like Drew Place (now Chilton Street) were named after the Drew family due to property ownership and long-term presence in the area. The Drew name carries a legacy of craftsmanship and local roots — fitting for The Drew Hotel.
